The Ministry of Training and Youth is in search of a chief transformation officer to lead the implementation of recommendations outlined in the 2021 ‘Reform of Education in Jamaica’ report.
Key Minister Andrew Holness, gave an update through a deal with-to-experience city hall conference at Jamaica College in St Andrew, on Friday.
The ministry is also setting up interior units to aid the implementation procedure.
Holness mentioned the using the services of of the transformation officer “will be a major milestone in the journey of transformation.”
The Education and learning Transformation Oversight Committee, currently being led by Dr Adrian Stokes, has already been established.
Holness, who underscored the worth of utilizing the recommendations, mentioned the Govt continues to be resolute in its mission of transforming training in Jamaica.
He preserved that this enterprise will revolutionise the sector and inspired the ministry’s stakeholders to “embrace the transformation process”.
The Primary Minister indicated that the ministry’s existing framework need to be altered to properly facilitate the reformation procedure.
“The transformation ought to be internal. The ministry itself need to embrace the transformation. The ministry alone should see the benefit of the transformation… and the people today in the ministry ought to lead the transformation,” he emphasised.
