Snakehead fish is a common fish in my country, a ferocious carnivorous species. Snakehead fish are relatively large, grow quickly, and their meat is rich in protein. They have very few bones and tender flesh. They have a large market in my country, and many people farm snakehead fish. So, how do you raise snakehead fish to prevent them from dying? Let's take a look.
1. Pond selection:
① Choose a place away from noise and ensure there is a sufficient, clean and hygienic water source and a good drainage and water exchange system.

② It is recommended that the pond area be between 1 mu and 5 mu, the water depth be maintained between 1 meter and 1.5 meters, and the silt at the bottom of the pond should not be too much.
③ Install escape-proof nets at the inlet and outlet of the pond to prevent the snakehead fish from escaping.
④ Before stocking, disinfect the fishpond thoroughly with quicklime , or plant water hyacinths in the pond to prevent the snakehead fish from jumping out of the pond and to provide shade for the pond.

2. Fish stocking:
① Select mature and healthy male and female snakehead fish as parent fish and release them in a 1:1 ratio.
② Before stocking, disinfect the fish fry with quicklime, salt water and bleaching powder to avoid mechanical damage.
③ The stocking density is determined based on factors such as the breeding area, feeding techniques, and feed . Generally, a maximum of 2,500 black carp can be raised per acre.
3. Feeding:
Snakehead fish are carnivorous , feeding on small fish and shrimp in ponds. When feeding them artificially, they should be fed at least twice a day at the same time and place. Observe their feeding behavior carefully and avoid overfeeding.

4. Feeding and Management:
① Pay attention to changes in dissolved oxygen levels in the water and add oxygen in a timely manner to prevent oxygen deficiency.
② Regularly check the growth of the snakehead fish and deal with any abnormalities promptly.
③ During key periods such as autumn, pay special attention to the growth and management of snakehead fish and prevent diseases.
④ By following the above steps, the survival rate of snakehead fish can be effectively improved, ensuring their healthy growth.
