The feed formulations for beef cattle and sheep differ during the fattening stage. Farmers should master the following two feed formulations for beef cattle and sheep:
1. Beef cattle feed formulation
① 2-3 month old calves
The ingredients are: 56% cornmeal, 15% corn stalk powder, 10% wheat bran, 10% soybean meal, 5% cottonseed meal, 0.5% dicalcium phosphate, 3% trace elements and vitamin additives, and 0.5% salt.

②6 months old
The ingredients are: 65% cornmeal, 25% cottonseed cake, 10% wheat bran, 5% soybean cake, 1.8% dicalcium phosphate, 2% trace elements and vitamin additives, and 1.2% salt.
③ 7-10 months old
Corn 48%, wheat bran 14%, cottonseed cake 35%, limestone powder 1.0%, bone meal 0.5%, salt 1.0%, sodium bicarbonate 0.5%.
④ Late fattening stage
The formula consists of 75% corn, 5% wheat bran, 10% cottonseed cake, 7% barley, 1.0% limestone powder, 0.5% bone meal, 0.5% salt, and 1.0% sodium bicarbonate. Under intensive fattening conditions, the animals weigh 150 kg at weaning and are ready for market at around 14 months of age, with a market weight of approximately 400 kg.

2. Meat sheep feed formulation
① Sheep raised in enclosures
Corn flour 21.5%, grass meal 21.5%, soybean meal 21.5%, corn kernels 17%, peanut meal 10.3%, wheat bran 6.9%, salt 0.7%, urea 0.3%, additives 0.3%.
② Free-range sheep
Corn 30%, wheat bran 25%, rapeseed cake 20%, barley 20%, minerals 3%, salt 2%.
③ Lamb
The ingredients are: corn 60%, soybean meal 9.5%, sesame meal 10%, wheat bran 20%, and bone meal 0.5%.
④ Breeding ewes
The diet consists of 15% corn, 10% soybean meal, 5% wheat bran, 40% hay, 0% soybean residue, 10% alfalfa meal, 15% silage, 4% breeding sheep premix , 0.5% salt, 0.5% dicalcium phosphate, plus 50% green grass, 300% green corn, and 25g multivitamins. The daily feed intake is 2.1-3.2 kg, divided into two feedings.
⑤ Breeding rams
Non-breeding season for breeding rams: 17% corn, 7% soybean meal, 4.5% wheat bran, 51.5% hay, 0% soybean residue, 0% alfalfa meal, 15% silage, 4% breeding ram premix, 0.5% salt, 0.5% dicalcium phosphate, plus 50% green grass, 300% green corn, and 15g multivitamins. Daily feed intake: 2.1-2.4 kg, divided into two feedings.
During the breeding season, the diet of rams should consist of: 20% corn, 8% soybean meal, 5% wheat bran, 0% soybean residue, 0% alfalfa meal, 15% hay, 15% silage, 4% mutton premix, 0.5% salt, 0.5% dicalcium phosphate, plus 30%-50% green grass and 300% green corn. The daily feed intake should be 2.4-2.8 kg, divided into two feedings.
