In the sweltering summer, the extremely hot weather can easily lead to heatstroke. When symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, and dizziness appear, it is considered mild heatstroke. Today, I will introduce some methods for managing mild heatstroke.
1. Peppermint and Patchouli Drink. Take 10 grams each of patchouli leaves, sesame leaves, and peppermint leaves, add water to cover them, bring to a boil, and cover while simmering.
The first herb, *Agastache rugosa*, is pungent and slightly warm. It enters the spleen, stomach, and lung meridians. It can aromatically dispel turbidity, harmonize the stomach and stop vomiting, and release exterior pathogens to relieve summer heat. It is often used for summer heat and dampness syndrome, chest tightness, and other symptoms, and is an excellent medicine for relieving summer heat and dampness. *Elsholtzia ciliata* enters the lung and stomach meridians. It induces sweating to relieve exterior pathogens, dispels dampness and harmonizes the stomach, and promotes diuresis and reduces swelling. *Benjing Fengyuan* states: "Elsholtzia ciliata first ascends and then descends, so when taken hot, it can disperse summer heat evil; when drunk cold, it relieves heat and promotes urination, and is very effective in treating edema." *Mentha haplocalyx* is pungent and cool in nature. It can disperse wind-heat, clear the head and eyes, and soothe the liver and regulate qi. It is often used for exogenous wind-heat, headache, and sore throat. The combination of these three herbs can relieve summer heat and dampness, and also aromatically open the orifices, providing excellent relief for headache, dizziness, weakness, and chest tightness caused by heatstroke.

2. Mint Rice Porridge. Ingredients: 30g fresh mint, 60g rice, 20g rock sugar. First, decoct the mint in water and let it cool. Then, cook the rice into porridge. When it's almost cooked, add the rock sugar and mint decoction, and bring to a boil once or twice more. Consume twice daily.
The rice in this formula nourishes the spleen and stomach. Rice porridge has the functions of nourishing the spleen, harmonizing the stomach, and clearing the lungs. Rock sugar is sweet, neutral in nature, and non-toxic. It enters the lung and spleen meridians. It can replenish qi, harmonize the stomach and moisten the lungs, and relieve cough and phlegm. The combination of these three ingredients can not only relieve summer heat and dampness with aromatic properties, but also protect the spleen and stomach and replenish nutrients lost due to excessive sweating. Compared with the above formula, this formula is suitable for those with heatstroke and gastrointestinal discomfort and decreased appetite as the main symptoms.
Summer health maintenance should focus on maintaining a clear mind and a broad perspective to nourish the spirit. Exercise is best done in the cool of the morning or evening, in a park, along a riverbank, or indoors, choosing suitable activities such as jogging or walking.
