Peaches are a popular fruit , and peach trees are grown in many regions. To ensure healthy growth, high yields, and good quality peach trees, proper fertilization is essential. So, what kind of fertilizer should peach trees receive? Let's find out.
1. Base fertilizer
The base fertilizer for peach trees mainly consists of organic fertilizer and microbial inoculants. It is recommended to use about 10 kg of microbial inoculants per acre for base application.

2. Pre-bud fertilizer
Apply pre-bud fertilizer 15 days before the start of spring. Apply 0.5 kg of urea, 0.3 kg of potassium chloride, and 0.2 kg of superphosphate per peach tree. Alternatively, mix it with well-rotted human manure and apply it as a top dressing around the roots. This can supplement insufficient post-fruiting fertilization, or if there is no fertilization problem, it can also promptly replenish the insufficient nutrients of the peach trees.
3. Pre-flowering fertilizer
Apply pre-flowering fertilizer 15-20 days before flowering, mainly nitrogen fertilizer. Apply 0.5-1 kg of urea and 0.25 kg of boron fertilizer per plant. Note that it should be mixed with farmyard manure.
4. Peach pit fertilizer
During the formation of peach pits, timely supplementation of peach pit fertilizer is necessary, with potassium fertilizer as the main component and nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer as supplementary components. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers should be mixed with farmyard manure. Generally, 0.3 to 0.5 kg of potassium chloride should be applied to each peach tree.

5. Fruit-harvesting fertilizer
Post-harvest fertilizer, also known as confinement fertilizer, should be applied 15-20 days before harvesting when the fruit is expanding rapidly. Potassium fertilizer should be the main component applied.
6. Overwintering fertilizer
After peach harvesting, apply nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers as the main components. Apply approximately 1.5-2 kg of urea and 1-1.5 kg of superphosphate per 50 kg of fruit to promote root development and enhance overwintering ability.
7. Foliar fertilizer
Foliar fertilizer can be applied to peach trees within 20 days from when the leaves unfold until they fall. It can be combined with disease and pest control. Foliar fertilizers such as boron, zinc, manganese and potassium fertilizers should be sprayed on sunny days.
