With the development of aquaculture technology, various new aquaculture models are emerging, such as traditional free-range farming, greenhouse farming, and aerial farming. So what kind of industry is aerial farming? Let's find out below.

What industry is aerial aquaculture?

Aerial farming refers to raising livestock and poultry at a height of 1.2 meters or more above the ground. Specifically, it involves using various building materials to construct livestock farms in the air. Raising livestock on rooftops or balconies also falls under this category.

What are some examples of aerial aquaculture projects?

1. Raising pigeons

For aerial pigeon breeding, you can choose meat pigeons, racing pigeons, or ornamental pigeons. Generally, you can build a pigeon loft on the rooftop and then divide it into different pigeon houses. Every morning, feed them some rice , corn, wheat, wheat bran , soybean cake, etc., and then release them to fly freely to forage.

2. Pig farming

Pig farming is typically carried out on raised beds. The specific structure involves two levels: the upper level is covered with a slatted floor, approximately 3 meters above the ground, facilitating mechanical cleaning of manure; the lower level is a concrete floor with organic bedding such as sawdust, where aerobic fermentation by microorganisms transforms the manure produced during pig farming into organic fertilizer .

3. Raising black goats

A stilted sheepfold can be built nearly two meters above the ground. Regular cleaning of the perforated layer is all that's needed, as sheep droppings fall to the ground below. This keeps the entire sheepfold almost always clean and creates a comfortable living environment for the sheep.

4. Chicken farming

Rooftop chickens can be raised freely. First, assess the rooftop space to understand its available size, shape, and surrounding environment. Then, design the size, layout, and structure of the chicken coop based on the number and breed of chickens. Consider factors such as ventilation, lighting, and drainage to ensure the functionality and comfort of the chicken coop.
