Yannong 1212 is a new wheat variety bred by the Yantai Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Shandong Province. This semi-winter variety is characterized by high yield, cold resistance, disease resistance, lodging resistance, resistance to hot and dry winds, and anti-aging properties – a combination of "high yield and five resistances." Its highest yield reached 840.7 kg per mu (approximately 16.7 hectares), repeatedly breaking my country's wheat yield record.
2. Shan Nong 29
Shannong 29 is a wheat variety developed by Shandong Agricultural University. It is characterized by good cold resistance, strong tillering ability, well-developed root system, strong lodging resistance, high yield, and strong yield-increasing capacity. Its highest yield reached 835.2 kg per mu (approximately 15.33 hectares), setting a new record for wheat yield in my country for two consecutive years.
3. Tobacco Farmer 999
Yannong 999 is a wheat variety bred by the Yantai Academy of Agricultural Sciences. This variety has a well-developed root system and strong resistance to adverse conditions, including frost and heat, especially its ability to withstand hot, dry winds in the later stages of wheat growth. In 2014, during a field test organized by experts from the former Ministry of Agriculture, it achieved a yield of 817 kg per mu (approximately 14,333 kg per hectare), setting a new national record for the highest single-yield of winter wheat that year.
4. Jimai 44
Jimai 44 is a new high-gluten wheat variety recently bred by the Crop Research Institute of the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It has outstanding characteristics such as being green, high-quality, high-gluten, disease-resistant, and high-yielding. The highest yield per mu (a Chinese unit of area, approximately 0.067 hectares) reached 766.62 kg, setting a new national record for the highest yield of super-strong gluten wheat.
5. Linmai No. 9
Linmai No. 9 is a new dual-purpose (water and drought) wheat variety bred by the Linyi Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Shandong Province. This variety is characterized by high and stable yield, resistance to lodging, frost, cold, and drought, immunity to wheat stripe rust and powdery mildew, and high resistance to wheat yellow mosaic virus. Its highest yield reached 834.86 kg/mu (approximately 15.33 hectares), setting a new record for the highest yield of water-saving winter wheat in Shandong Province.
