During the plum tree planting process, it is essential to choose the right time to spray pesticides. This not only prevents pests and diseases but also promotes the healthy growth of the plum trees. The spraying schedule for plum trees mainly includes the following three points:
1. Spraying pesticides in spring
Generally, plum trees enter their vigorous growth period in spring, at which time it is crucial to focus on controlling pests such as aphids and spider mites. Therefore, in spring, especially before and after the plum trees bud, pesticides should be sprayed promptly for prevention and control.
Plum trees can be sprayed with pesticides around April in spring. At this time, the main pesticides used are peach chlorpyrifos or cypermethrin, which can prevent pests and diseases. When spraying, pay attention to the concentration of the pesticide; it needs to be diluted with water according to the instructions. If the concentration is too high, it can easily cause phytotoxicity, and the flowers may fall off. Dilute according to the instructions and spray once every 20 days or so. Spraying three or four times consecutively will be more effective in preventing pests and diseases.

2. Spraying pesticides in summer
In summer, with rising temperatures and increased rainfall, plum trees enter a period of rapid growth. At this time, the main pests and diseases that need to be controlled include powdery mildew, brown spot, and peach fruit borer.
Summer pesticide application for plum trees is mainly to prevent pests and diseases. In order to effectively control these pests and diseases, it is recommended to start spraying pesticides regularly in June, spraying once every 10 days or so, for 2-3 consecutive times.

3. Spraying pesticides in autumn
As autumn arrives and temperatures gradually decrease, plum trees begin their fruiting period. At this time, the focus of prevention and control should be on diseases such as bacterial spot and brown spot. To ensure fruit quality and yield, pesticides should be sprayed regularly starting in August, approximately every 15 days, for 2-3 consecutive applications.
Spray the plum saplings once before they bloom during orchard cleanup, and once every two weeks after they bloom, for a total of 2-3 times. Alternatively, spray once before and after blooming, and twice after fruit set. Or spray the plum saplings once before and once after blooming, and twice after fruit set.
