What is the best medicine for killing mites?
Choosing the right pesticide is crucial when controlling mites. Common pesticides include spirodiclofen, etoxazole, propargite, azoxystrobin, pyridaben, bifenazate, and etoxazole. The specific pesticide should be selected based on the crop type, the extent of the mite infestation, and local climate conditions.
How should medications for eliminating mites be used effectively?
1. Spirodiclofen
Before or during the occurrence of spider mites, apply 20-40 ml/acre of 24% spirodiclofen suspension diluted in 15-30 kg of water for uniform spraying.
2. Etoxazole
In the early stages of mite infestation, spray with an 11% etoxazole suspension diluted 3000-4000 times with water.
3. Propylene acetamiprid
Begin spraying at the initial peak of mite infestation. Depending on the mite population, a second spray can be applied after 20 days. Generally, use a 1000–1500 times dilution of 40% emulsifiable concentrate or a 2000–2500 times dilution of 56% microemulsion for even spraying.
4. Azoxystrobin
The general method of use is to dilute it and spray it on the plants, or it can be used by coating or fumigation. A commonly used formulation is a 5% suspension concentrate, with a dosage of 2000-3000 times.
5. Pyridaben
It can be applied during the mite infestation period. Dilute 20% wettable powder or 15% emulsifiable concentrate with water to 50-70 mg/L (2300-3000 times) and spray.
6. Biphenylhydrazine
Bifenazate is mainly used to control pests such as citrus spider mites, orange and grapefruit spider mites, rust mites, and red spider mites on citrus trees. Apply the pesticide at the initial stage of infestation, spraying with a 2500-3000 times dilution of 43% bifenazate suspension.
7. Ethoxamyl
For routine application, spray the stems and leaves with a 30% etoxazole suspension diluted 3000-4000 times. Apply at the initial stage or peak of mite infestation.
