The wampee fruit has a sweet and sour taste, and not only the flesh but also the peel and seeds can be eaten. Many people grow wampee trees in pots . The main techniques for cultivating potted wampee trees are as follows:

1. Planting time

Choosing the right time to plant potted wampee trees is crucial. Generally, planting between March and May is most suitable, as rainfall is plentiful and temperatures have risen, making it easier for the plants to take root and resulting in a high survival rate. It's best to plant on a cloudy day.

2. Soil selection

The requirements for soil are not very high. Under normal circumstances, sandy loam and clay loam can allow the yellow-skinned fruit tree to survive. However, it is best to use a mixture of humus, sandy charcoal and garden soil for potted plants. Such soil is loose and fertile, with good aeration and drainage, which is conducive to survival.

3. Planting methods

After preparing the soil, first lay a layer of soil at the bottom of the flowerpot, then pour in some organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, then fill in one-third of the soil, place the yellow-skinned fruit seedling in the pot, and make sure the seedling is upright. Fill in the remaining soil, compact the soil layer, and let its roots spread out naturally without being exposed above the ground.

4. Planting environment

The wampee tree prefers a warm, humid environment, with an ideal temperature above 20℃ and a minimum temperature not below -0℃, as its cold tolerance is not particularly strong. Potted wampee trees must receive ample sunlight, at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily, to ensure high yields, good quality, and robust plant growth.

5. Key Management Points

After planting, water the seedlings thoroughly once. Do not water them again until they have fully adapted to the soil and recovered. Keep the soil slightly moist and provide appropriate shade to prevent the plants from being exposed to direct sunlight. Once the seedlings have recovered, you can start watering and fertilizing.
