Soybeans are an excellent source of organic fertilizer . Fermented soybeans produce a nutritionally complete organic fertilizer, rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other nutrients, effectively meeting the various nutritional needs of crop growth. So how are soybeans fermented to make organic fertilizer? Details are as follows:

1. Prepare raw materials

First, prepare a sufficient quantity of fully ripe, disease-free soybeans to ensure a smooth fermentation process. Second, you will also need a starter culture and dilution water. The starter culture can be a commercially available microbial inoculant or a homemade one; the dilution water can be clean, uncontaminated water.

2. Soak soybeans

Place the selected soybeans directly into a water tank or basin, then pour in clean water until it covers the soybeans by about four fingers. Soak for a day and a night to allow the soybeans to absorb enough water.

3. Cook soybeans

After soaking the soybeans, take them out and put them directly into a pot for steaming. When steaming, make sure to add enough water to the pot to prevent it from drying out. Generally, boil for about 20 minutes and then simmer for about 10 minutes before taking them out and letting them cool to room temperature for later use.

4. Prepare the fermentation agent

Take an appropriate amount of fermenting agent and mix it with water according to the proportions specified in the instructions. Stir well to prepare a fermenting agent solution. It is generally recommended to dilute the fermenting agent in 600 catties of water, stir well, and set aside.

5. Prepare for fermentation

Place the dried soybeans into a fermentation container, pour in the fermentation solution, mix thoroughly with the soybeans, and then seal the container to prevent air from entering. During the fermentation process, you can add some sugars, such as sucrose or fructose, to promote the growth and fermentation of microorganisms. Fermentation is complete when the moisture in the soybeans has evaporated and there is no off-odor.

6. Use rationally

Soybean fermentation produces some watery liquid. Because these solutions contain a large amount of trace elements such as nitrogen, they are slightly acidic. They can be diluted with water and used to irrigate crops, and are very effective for the growth of crops such as melons and garlic .
