Demai 008 wheat is characterized by its short stalks, numerous ears, disease resistance, resistance to hot and dry winds, and high yield. In particular, it exhibits strong resistance to four major diseases: leaf rust, stripe rust, powdery mildew, and sheath blight, significantly outperforming any other short-stalk wheat variety. Furthermore, Demai 008 wheat requires low seed quantities; at the appropriate sowing time, only 6-8 kg per mu (approximately 0.067 hectares) is needed to produce around 400,000 ears per mu, making it very easy to achieve high yields.
6. Production Performance
During the approval process, the minimum yield per mu was 568.5 kg, indicating high and stable yield. In 2022, the yield of 1,000 mu of Demai 008 wheat in the core demonstration area of "1.5 tons of grain" in Zhaijia Town, Linyi County, was measured. 7. Cultivation Points
The suitable sowing period is October 1-15, with a basic seedling density of 120,000-150,000 per mu (approximately 667 square meters). Pay attention to the prevention and control of Fusarium head blight. Other management measures are the same as for general field operations.
