Weed control is crucial in crop cultivation; improper use of pesticides can easily cause phytotoxicity. Some growers often make their own herbicides at home. Here are four types of homemade all-purpose herbicides:
1. Salt + hot water
To make your own herbicide , use salt, dish soap or soapy water, and prepare a bucket and hot water. Add about half a kilogram of salt to 4 liters of hot water, then add a small amount of dish soap or soapy water to create a simple herbicide. To use, pour the homemade herbicide into a 2-liter bucket, dilute it with water, and spray it during the hot, dry midday.

2. Distilled white vinegar + concentrated lemon juice
To make a herbicide, prepare 400 ml of distilled white vinegar, add 30-50 ml of concentrated lemon juice, mix briefly, add about 7-14 ml of dish soap, and then mix in about 30 ml of medical alcohol. After mixing, dilute the vinegar with water at a 1:1 ratio, and finally pour the prepared vinegar solution into a spray bottle and spray it onto the weeds.
3. Glufosinate-ammonium + water
To use, simply mix 100 grams of glufosinate-ammonium with 30 kilograms of water, then spray the mixture onto the weeds. Effects will be visible within 48 hours. The weeds will be completely dead within 3-5 days, and the product can be used continuously for up to a year. It is suitable for orchards, tea gardens, and field ridges. It can quickly kill a variety of weeds, including goosegrass , fleabane, water hyacinth, cogongrass , reeds, horsetail, and purslane , without harming the crop's root system.

4. Vinegar + Epsom Salt
Prepare a pot, heat the vinegar, then add an appropriate amount of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate heptahydrate) and let them dissolve completely. After the mixed solution cools, pour it into a spray bottle, and finally add a little hand soap. Shake it to mix the solution well, and then spray the solution directly onto the weedy areas to effectively remove the weeds.
