As a baking newbie, I recently got a Changdi S1 oven and tried making sweet potato buns for the first time. They're super easy and don't require strict windowpane testing! 😋 The baked buns are round and plump, and I even added little facial expressions to them, instantly making them stand out in the bread world – so cute I wanted to pet them! Inside is a super dense sweet potato filling, sweet and creamy, one bite and I was bursting with happiness! 🥰

Sweet Potato Bun Recipe Steps (A Must-Try for Baking Beginners)

Steamed or baked sweet potatoes are mashed into a puree. You can add condensed milk or sugar to taste.

Mix high-gluten flour, whole egg liquid, sugar, salt, and emulsified yeast (from water) together and knead the dough.

After mixing well, add room temperature butter and knead until well combined into the dough.

After kneading, cover the dough with plastic wrap or a fermentation cloth and let it rest for ten minutes (to prevent the surface from drying out).

Wrap the sweet potato puree in the dough, seam side down, and place evenly on a baking sheet.

Select the convection oven, baking oven, or conventional oven mode (a conventional oven can be used on the first floor, but I chose the convection oven to test the oven), set the top and bottom heating elements to 18℃, and bake for about 16 minutes. Once preheated, place the sweet potato buns inside and bake.
